AUTOMATE SECTIONAL OR TILT DOORS
|
Sectional Doors & Tilt
Doors Motors
We use various garage doors motors brands. At
the moment we're mainly using Gliderol motors
as they have proven to be efficient and reliable.
For Roller Doors, we'll use the Gliderol GRII.
For larger Roller Doors (more than 4 metres) we
use the Gliderol Heavy Duty motor (GRD). With
Sectional Doors and Tilt doors, we are mainly
using the Gliderol Glidermatic GTS 2000
(see left picture).
Download Brochure.
We also use other brands such as Merlin
(depending on stock availability)
All of our motors are Australian brands.

Sectional
Doors Automation
These are sometimes called the "Panel"
doors. Sectional or Panel doors "open up
section by section". Sectional Doors
motors are mounted onto the ceiling and
"connected" to your garage door with
a pole / shaft. Please refer to the left picture
for a better explanation.
Note: The left image is to demonstrate how a Sectional
Door Motor can be fitted, an extension lead was
used for testing. Your garage door should have
a standard powerpoint nearby to plug the motor
in.

Tilt Doors
Automation
Tilt doors are the "one piece"
doors that "swing outwards"
when open. Basically, you can not stand or park
right outside of your garage when the door opens.
Tilt doors are automated similarly to Sectional
Doors. We tend to use the same kind of motors
with different accessories.
Remote Controls
Both Sectional Doors and Tilt doors motors come
with 2 remote controls (normally). At CMC Automatic
Doors we often like to give away remote controls
for free. See our "Specials of the Week!"
page to see if we any on offer right now.

A Roller Door motor is fitted into the side
of the door roll. A wall unit is mounted
onto the wall.
|
Roller Doors Automation
A Roller Door "rolls up into one big roll
when it opens". A motor can be fitted onto
either side of the roll or door curtain. All you
need is sufficient sideroom, around 4-5cm. "Sideroom"
is firstly the distance between the door curtain
and the bracket which holds up the door. The second
"sideroom" is the distance between the
bracket and the sidewall, the more you have here
the better!
Remote Controls
Roller doors motors come with 2 remote controls
and 1 wall unit.
Each remote has 3 buttons which mean you can
operate 2 or more doors on 1 remote control.

and 5 years on our workmanship. There is no warranty

Garage
Door Automation Requirements |
-
The garage door is in good working
condition
We can automate garage doors that are up to
30 or 40 years old. Age does not matter, what
matters is how well the door has been maintained.
To be automated, a garage door needs to be
in sufficient working condition. Please advise
us truthfully about the condition of your
door. Our installers are happy to perform
minor servicing such as spraying on tracks
to make the door travels smoother, this is
free of charge. However, if major
servicing is required, you will be
advised in advance and a servicing fee applies.
-
There is a standard powerpoint within
your garage
A standard powerpoint is needed, as close
to the motor as possible. The motor itself
will have a 1 metre cord and you can always
run extension lead to your nearest powerpoint.
If you do not have a powerpoint, you can organise
for an electrician prior, during or after
the motor installation. We can also organise
for an electrician for you. We can not provide
extension cords, our quotes do not include
powerpoints or any service relating to powerpoints.
-
There is sufficient "headroom"
or "sideroom".
For instruction on how to measure Roller Doors
sideroom please Click
Here. To see how to measure Sectional
or Tilt Doors headroom please Click
Here. Please let us know if you
have any other obstruction in your garage
such as shelving, step roof (concrete or cement
segments hanging down from ceiling) or pipes.
-
The garage door is within the size
approximation you have given us.
Please be as accurate as you can when we ask
for your door size. If you have some measurements
ready, this would be extremely appreciated.
Please let us know whether you think you have
a standard single or a standard double garage.
Also let us know if you have a high ceiling
garage so we can prepare sufficient tools
and accessories. If you tell us it's a standard
single garage (2.5 metres wide) but your garage
is in fact 4 metres wide then there will be
additional costs. Our installers will advise
of this additional cost and you can choose
whether to go ahead or not. However, to help
us provide you with better service please
be as accurate as possible. We appreciate
your time and effort.
-
There is an alternative access in
case of a power failure.
Our motor comes with a manual override
cord which you can pull to put your garage
door back into manual mode when there's a
power failure or when there's any problem
with the motor. However, to get to the manual
cord (hanging off the motor) you will need
to be able to get into the garage using an
alternative access such as a side door or
back door. If you don't have an alternative
access we will need to install an External
Emergency Key Release. This is an additional
cost. Emergency Key Release is optional, however
we recommend that you have it installed if
your garage door is the only entrance into
your garage.
