Garage Doors Pickup Guide – Part 2

We want to make sure everything goes smoothly when you go in to pick up garage doors at our factory, so if you could watch this video all the way to the end and follow our guides carefully.

In part 1 would have given you a fair idea of how to book for a specific day & time to book. If you haven’t watched that, please watch part 1 first. https://youtu.be/5-WItiUx58s?si=5ghDp2mguL98Fk1C

Now, we will talk about the details such as what to wear, where to go and what to say when you get to the factory. First of all, Gliderol is a big factory and there’s many other installers and dealers coming in to pick up, so you will need to follow certain safety guidelines for your own safety and to make it easier for staff to serve you.

When you go in, please make sure you wear appropriate workwear such as a high visibility vest and work boots or just sensible shoes. If you do not have a high vis vest, please let office people know and they can lend you one.

Use appropriate Vehicles

Please also prepare an appropriate vehicle. This is one of the most important thing we need to stress. A few of our Customers have mistakenly used inappropriate vehicles. We recommend a single cab Ute with a large tray. Or if it’s a dual cab, you can also place garage doors on top of the vehicle’s roof racks. But please make sure you place sufficient packing underneath to avoid dents.

You can also use a trailer or a truck. But again, please clear off the tray beforehand and make sure there’s sufficient packing. Our installers recommend a flat piece of timber or foam.

We don’t recommend using a van to pick up, especially sectional doors. Some of our Customers have used a high van and asked if doors can be placed on top of the van and this is not possible or not at all recommended. Placing doors on top of a high van not only risk injuries but also risk causing dents to garage doors when you unload them.

Once you get to our factory, please follow instruction on the text to know where to go and what to say.

If you’re picking up doors, you can go to the Reception area on the left and quote exact order number to get paperwork. If you’re picking up motors or parts, please go to Spare Parts office on the right and quote order number. Please note, you will have to specifically quote the correct order number for us to be able to dispatch doors or items.

Once you’ve got paperwork, please drive down the driveway and to the back to pick up doors.

Check for Parts

There will be men & equipement to help you load. But please note, make sure you prepare your vehicle to your best ability, which means clearing off trays beforehand, prepare packing beforehand. We do not provide packing at factory. Once everything is loaded, please make sure all parts are given before signing paperwork.

In our text, we would have given you a checklist, please check carefully to make sure everything has been given. By signing paperwork, you are accepting that everything has been provided. If parts are found to be missing afterwards, you do need to come back to factory to pick them up. And of course, we don’t want that to happen, it is obviously time wasting and inconvenient for you. So we must stress that you run through the checklist, make sure all items are provided and loaded.

Once everything is loaded, please carefully tie & strap everything down. Make sure you put some packing underneath before strapping things down. Some Customers have caused dents to doors by strapping it down to tightly without any packing.

Unloading & Storing Garage Doors

And once you get back to your place, again make sure you load doors onto a safe & sensible area. Do not simply put a roller door onto hard surface with sharp objects that could cause dents.

Please put some packing underneath first and carefully load doors on. Ask that your installers take extra care when installing as well. If it’s a roller door, please remove locking bars before installing.

We send through an email after your pickup which contains important information, please read through that before installing. If there’s any issues or questions, please contact us.

Remember, we aim to make sure everything goes well for you and to make sure you’re happy with your new garage door. So please follow our instructions and guides carefully. Thank you for watching and thank you for your business!
